Books are an extremely important spiritual value in life, and an inexhaustible treasure of knowledge. Reading culture is one of the precious traditions that need to be promoted for sustainable development. Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is one of the cultural events to help raise the reading spirit for everyone. Especially for children of preschool age, it is very necessary to arouse the love of books from the habit of reading and keeping books.

The students excitedly took "check-in" photos at the bookstore.

During the period of time from April 19 to April 26, students in grades PS, PK, and K at Phu My Hung campus and Phu Lam campus had an extracurricular trip to the bookstore where they could learn many interesting and useful things. In a large space filled with books and learning materials neatly displayed in a variety of genres: books for coloring, comics, books for writing skills, books about animal and plant world, English books, etc., the students were very excited and quickly choose their favorite books and cute souvenirs.

The students enjoyed choosing their favorite book titles.

During the trip, the students always lined up neatly, talked and walked quietly, sat around and listened to the teacher reading books and telling stories. In addition, they also learned about some basic activities of the bookstore like how to display books in different sections, proper manners when visiting the bookstore, etc.

The students attentively listened to the teacher telling stories.

Moreover, through the trip, the children could also develop independence in making purchase decisions, queuing when waiting for payment, know how to use money properly and practice planning skills such as “What’s my favorite book?”, “How long will it take me to read it?”, “How much does it cost to buy this book?”.

The children lined up and made payment by themselves.

The trip has brought our children the opportunities to familiarize themselves with the world around them, improve their communication and self-service skills when participating in extracurricular activities, and know how to prepare things needed for the trip. Every day at school, our children can gain more experiences in their growing up journey.
