Young generations with outstanding achievements
Accordingly, Cambridge Checkpoint exam is to assess students at the end of Primary and Secondary programs at international schools that teach the Cambridge program. The test includes three core subjects: English as a Second Language (ESL), Mathematics and Science (entirely in English). The test results provide an internationally valid assessment of a student's ability before moving on to the next level of study. The certificates are of permanent validity.
The school has successfully organized the first Cambridge exam and achieved many achievements.
Accredited as a member of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), Royal School has successfully organized the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exam (for grade 5 students) and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint exam (for grade 8 students) in April. The exam paper is set by CAIE and will be sent to Cambridge's headquarters in the UK for grading. This is the second year the school has successfully organized this exam with outstanding achievements from the students.
Through the exam, students have the opportunity to test their knowledge and prepare a solid foundation for moving on to higher education. They can develop language skills as well as knowledge of science and math equivalent to students in developed countries.
Taking part in the exam, students are equipped with a solid knowledge base for future development.
Impressive “absolute scores”
Following the success of 2021, the school continued to have students with absolute scores in all three subjects and impressive achievements in the exam. Many students were honored with “absolute scores”: Vo Hoang Uyen (grade 5 student) with ESL 6.0/6.0 and Science 6.0/6.0; Andromeda Chong Minh Yu (grade 5 student) with ESL 6.0/6.0 (Grade 5 Primary Checkpoint); Cao Hoang Lam (grade 8 student) with ESL 6.0/6.0, Bui Bao Gia Nguyen (grade 8 student) with Mathematics 6.0/6.0 (Grade 8 Lower Secondary Checkpoint). The proud achievements of the students are a testament to the tireless efforts and thinking development of the talented generation of Royal School students.

Hoang Lam scored 6.0/6.0 in ESL for 2 times taking the exam.
The checkpoint test results for each subject are ranked on the competency framework with the following levels: Excellent (from 5.0 to 6.0), Very good (from 4.0 to 5.0), Good (from 3.0 to 5.0), OK (from 2.0 to 3.0), Poor (from 1.0 to 2.0), Very poor (from 0 to 1.0). And most of our students were recognized as good or above.
Affirming the quality of international education
With previous experience in organizing the exams, the school helped students become more confident with the professional and methodical arrangement. In addition, Royal School also worked closely with parents to encourage and support students to keep their minds at ease. Questions from parents about the exam were answered enthusiastically by the teachers, preparing well for students to get high scores with confidence.
